What is the Habit Change Challenge?

It is a 66-day challenge that encourages people to make positive changes in their life while supporting youth mental health programming at London Health Sciences Centre.

How do I participate?

It's easy! You can register here. It is super simple and you will be guided through the process.

Where do the funds go?

All funds raised from the Habit Change Challenge support the First Episode Mood & Anxiety Program at London Health Sciences Centre. FEMAP is aimed at reversing the "first episodes" of mental illness for youth aged 16-25. The program offers a comprehensive range of services such as psychology, psychiatry, social work, addictions counselling, family therapy, and group therapy.

What habit do I choose?

It's up to you! You can chose to get rid of an unhealthy habit (smoking, drinking, eating sugar, etc.) or adopt a healthy habit (exercising, healthy eating, mindfulness) for 66 days. OR you can follow along with the special weekly challenges that we will send to all registered participants and work on different habits.

Do I have to chose my own habit?

No! Each Friday, all registered participants will receive an email with a new weekly challenge to participate in!

Are there any fundraising prizes?

We are so glad you asked! Yes, there are! We want to thank you for raising money for us, so we will be providing special swag for anyone who raises $250 or $500+. We also have a great 7 DAYS OF GIVEAWAYS planned for the last week of the challenge. Click here for more information on prizes.

How do I fundraise?

Once you register, you will have access to a fundraising portal that has lots of great tools to help you fundraise. Here are a few tips to help you fundraise:

  1. You can customize your page to tell your story of why you are participating in this challenge and why raising funds for youth mental health is important to you. Don't forget to add photos and videos to help tell your story.

  2. Then you can use the Email section to contact everyone you know and ask them to donate. We have templates all ready to go for you.

  3. We recommend getting your fundraising started by making a donation yourself. This shows your donors that you are committed to the cause.

  4. You can also share your page to your social media.

  5. Once you have emailed/texted/called everyone you know, don't forget to follow up/thank them!

How much do I have to fundraise?

There is no required minimum, but if everyone raises $500, we will achieve our goal of $50,000 so much quicker.
