  Musical Entertainment

This year's entertainment features two performances from local musicians.

The original Allen Family Reunion was formed in 1980 with Jane, Joe, Julie and John P. Allen. They brought their family sound of bluegrass music to many festivals in the early ’80s. Today, the band has reunited blending three of the original members with their children: John’s daughter Beverly, and Julie’s son Paul. Over the past few years, the band has created a legion of faithful fans who can’t get enough of their joyful sound.

Mat Gauthier is one of the most versatile entertainers in Canada! He is an incredibly talented musician and singing comedian impressionist with catchy parody songs and a variety act too. Mat’s powerful 5 octave range allows him cover different genres of music and artists from over the decades. Mat has won the Rising Star competition in the World Tribute Artist Championships and was chosen as one of the two finalists at Canada’s Great Impressions Contest, sponsored by the Comedy Network.

 Keynote Speaker

John P. Allen is a six-time Juno award-winning musician and member of the Candian Country Music Hall of Fame and London Forest City Music Hall of Fame. Over the past 50 years, John has performed with Canadian music icons and was an original member of Prairie Oyster. In 2018, John was diagnosed with a rare blood protein disease, AL Amyloidosis. This disease caused John’s heart to stiffen, leading to heart failure and a major cardiac arrest. After months at University Hospital, John received his heart transplant on September 28, 2019. Four and a half years post-transplant, John continues to perform and make the most of his new life.
